SOLAS is the Further Education and Training (FET) Authority in Ireland tasked with funding, co-ordinating and monitoring the provision of FET programmes to over 300,000 beneficiaries annually.

The Action Plan for Education, launched by the Minister for Education & Skills in 2016, has an ambition that Ireland will have the best education and training system in Europe in 10 years. The SOLAS Corporate Plan 2017 - 2019 sets out how FET will contribute to this ambition.

Director of Strategy & Evaluation - Job Description

This senior management role is within the Strategy and Knowledge division in SOLAS and reports to the Executive Director of Strategy & Knowledge. The purpose of this unit is to drive the development of future strategy for further education and training (FET) and its positioning within the wider education and training landscape.

Overseeing a team of approximately 20 people across three SOLAS business units, the Skills and Labour Market Research Unit (SLMRU), the Data Analytics Unit and the Strategy and Evaluation Unit, this is an excellent opportunity for an experienced senior executive interested in influencing the direction of a critical sector at a time of significant change.

Previous experience of working in a national role would be an advantage and the ability to demonstrate high level influencing skills is a must.

The salary scale for these senior level posts are equivalent to that of Principal Officer in the Civil Service.
